Brian Mc Cabe Another nice blog (and good photos) Murdo. Visited Lisbon two years ago with our choir but didnt have nearly enough time to look around. Its on my list for future exploration. In the meantime, looking forward to Brazil & Argentina with the good old Travel Department in three weeks time. Cant wait!
re: Algarve, PortugalIrene As always, a lovely reflection on your trip. After all this constant rain we have had it is sorely tempting to jump on a plane and head off to the sun and trace your footsteps.
re: Algarve, PortugalAnthea Vaughan In 2005 I bought what was then a derelict weaving mill in Rogart. Everyone thought I was nuts but I had long wanted to live up in the north and this building and t cried out for attention Murdo, I am a stranger to you but I share your love of the north. In fact, it prompted me to buy the derelict weaving mill in Rogart. It cried out for renovation. Everyone thought I was nuts but I have never regretted for one moment that buy. With a broken bridge to the front door, electricity cables running across filthy floors etc I camped under duvets galore and slept well. And so it went on.It is now a fully functioning home with the joy of falling asleep to the sound of the corrie burn rumbling by. It is reluctantly now in the hands of new owners …😒 Sorry if this has been an intrusion of your privacy. Its just that , some I found your post by chance and it triggered great memories of that part of the north!

re: Monticatini/Florence/Siena/San GimignanoBrian Mc Cabe Well done Murdo on another excellent blog. As a fellow contestant in that competition, I am glad it went to a worthy recipient - and your photos are much better than mine would have been! Glad to see you haven't lost your eye for the quirky - loved the "No WiFi- just wine" sign. Looks like a good time was had by all
